James Gruber is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at 32 Biosciences, where he leads the company’s capital strategy, financial operations, and corporate development to support the advancement of its therapeutic pipeline and long-term growth. James is a seasoned life sciences finance executive with more than 25 years of experience building financial organizations, optimizing capital allocation, and guiding companies through periods of rapid growth and transformation.

Previously, James served as Chief Financial Officer at Eton Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ETON), where he led the company’s financial strategy during the expansion of its commercial rare disease portfolio. Prior to Eton, he was U.S. Controller at Horizon Therapeutics, where he played a key role in the financial and accounting integration of multiple public and private acquisitions as the company grew revenue more than tenfold. Earlier in his career, James spent 14 years in financial leadership positions across multiple business units and international markets at Abbott Laboratories.

James is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University.

At 32 Biosciences, he focuses on strengthening the company’s financial foundation, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and positioning the organization for long-term value creation as CS-0003 advances toward clinical development.
