
Julie Ferguson
Julie is a seasoned communications professional utilizing creative communication strategies with various internal and external constituents for over 20 years. She has served as Company spokesperson for several pharmaceutical companies.
Launching JFPR Communications Group in 2017, working with the top healthcare clients and PR agencies in the world, Ferguson has conducted client work focused on issues management, investor relations, drug approvals, marketing, social media, media relations and internal communications for clients including Optum Health, Astellas Pharma Inc., Tolmar, Novartis, Myovant Sciences, Hutchmed and Intellia Therapeutics, Inc. She has consulted and served on the board at various start-up biotechs emerging from stealth mode including Endsulin, Biofluidica, Covira and COUR Pharmaceuticals. Spending the first two decades of her career working in-house in public affairs with industry-leading organizations such as the American Medical Association, Abbott/Abbvie, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cleveland Clinic, Hospira, Takeda and Pfizer, where she contributed to several major public health initiatives promoting consumer and physician education and disease awareness for autoimmune diseases, biosimilars, cancer, depression, HIV, Hepatitis B and C and women’s health.
Ferguson holds a master’s degree in public relations and advertising from DePaul University, where she serves as an adjunct professor and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Illinois University. She has served on the boards of StepUp and the American Cancer Society’s Associate Board of Ambassadors. Currently she sits on the board of The Stork Foundation for Infertility.
