Peter Farmakis is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of 32 Biosciences, where he leads the company’s strategy and execution as it advances first-in-class upstream therapeutics centered on the GI mucosal-immune system. He brings more than two decades of leadership experience across biotechnology, diagnostics, and medical devices, with expertise spanning company building, commercialization, strategic planning, and business development.

Throughout his career, Peter has held commercial and general-management leadership positions with major life sciences organizations including Abbott Laboratories and Johnson & Johnson. He has also served as CEO of early-stage healthcare companies, including VitaHEAT Medical, and has participated in successful company exits involving OraPharma and Unimed Pharmaceuticals.

Peter completed the Post-MBA General Management Executive Development Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He earned his MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management and his BA in Pre-Physical Therapy and Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

At 32 Biosciences, Peter is focused on advancing CS-0003 toward human clinical development, building the institutional capabilities required for clinical-stage execution, and creating long-term value through a focused therapeutic strategy supported by functional biological measurement and the company’s GB Discovery & Functional Biology Platform.
